IT staff training focuses on improving service

Mitun Chakravarty, Tes Halili and Loan Pham from IT recently completed 3 days of training and examination in ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.

The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a set of practices for IT service management (ITSM) that focuses on aligning IT services with the needs of business. ITIL is the most widely adopted approach for IT service management to underpin core business processes. It provides a practical framework for:

  • identifying
  • planning
  • delivering
  • supporting

IT services to business.

Through this course, Ms Chakravarty, Ms Halili and Ms Pham, learnt the essentials of ITIL that will help them provide RMIT Training with improved service by applying the principles of ITIL to their work. In particular, ITIL will assist them in improving:

  • delivery of IT services
  • customer satisfaction
  • productivity
  • use of skills
  • experience
  • reduced costs.

The ITIL best practices are detailed within five core publications that map the entire Service Management Lifecycle:

  • Service Strategy
  • Service Design
  • Service Transition
  • Service Operation
  • Continual Service Improvement.

This training course is another example of RMIT Training's commitment to investing in the professional development and training of its employees.

Congratulations to Mitun Chakravarty, Tes Halili and Loan Pham for successfully completing training, passing the exam and gaining ITIL certification.
