REW welcomes agents to its PTE Academic Test Centre

In August, RMIT English Worldwide (REW) Melbourne hosted an event for migration and education agents about the PTE Academic Test.

REW has been an official Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic Test Centre since September 2015.

PTE Academic is the world’s leading computer-based test of English for study abroad and immigration purposes.

RMIT Training Director of Partner and Client Support, Gail Parker, provided an overview of REW Melbourne’s products and services, including the pathway program to RMIT University and REW’s English language testing services.

Ms Parker detailed the benefits of the relationship with Pearson Australia.

“It is fantastic to be able to support Pearson and their clients in Melbourne by hosting frequent and convenient PTE Academic tests which expand our diverse testing capabilities at REW,” she said.

The event was attended by key personnel from Pearson including Sasha Hampson, Head of English, and Key Account Managers, Joe Hernandez and Matthew Lampkin, who gave the main presentation on PTE Academic, detailing the test structure, examples and scoring.

Agents learnt how to take advantage of PTE Academic for their business, the critical differences between PTE Academic and other tests, how clients can prepare and maximise their results and how the test is run.

"PTE Academic is the most objective and reliable assessment of Academic English skills available,” commented Ms Hampton.

The PTE Academic test centre network continues to grow across Australia and Pearson is excited to be working with RMIT English Worldwide to offer international students and graduates increased access to our computer-based Academic English test."

At the conclusion of the presentations agents were given a guided tour of REW’s PTE Academic testing facilities followed by drinks and networking.

Since its launch in 2009, PTE Academic is now accepted in all Australian universities and fully approved for all visas and migration by the Australian Government, as well as being recognised in over 50 countries worldwide.

Features that set it apart from other tests include online booking and fast, accurate, objective results. Test candidates can access free preparation materials, sample questions and tips online, and results are typically available within five business days.

Test sessions are held twice daily, Monday to Friday at REW Melbourne.

RMIT English Worldwide has over 40 years’ experience in writing English materials and delivering tailored training and testing solutions, with specific expertise in validated and secure assessment that measures learning outcomes.
